Ms. Jahrielle Whaley | Lead Infant Room Teacher

" Hello , my name is Jahrielle Whaley and I’m a 23 year old Norfolk native. In my senior year of high school I only had two classes and I felt like my days weren’t really productive because I would go to school at 7 and leave at 10, with nothing else to do. One day while leaving school at 10 am , I seen a “hiring” sign outside of a daycare that was across the street from my school . I went and applied, at first, just because I wanted to have something to do after school and I thought the money would be nice. I didn’t know it then but after getting into the childcare field, I found my calling . Children are so innocent and creative that it almost makes you forget about the negativity we see and go through on a daily basis in today's world . Children teach you patience, understanding, love . They have taught me it’s okay to make mistakes, it’s okay to be goofy , it’s okay to not be perfect . They love me anyways and it’s a feeling of comfort that I never had until I started working in this field."

Ms. Shakira Wilson| Lead Teacher/Floater

"Childcare is something I just walked into one day never knew I was going to fall inlove with the environment but I did . I been i the child care field for 6 years. I love the excitement the kids have when they are about to learn something new or when the finally accomplish the task how joyful they be to tell me about what they did . My contribution to the kids is to give them a place to feel safe and love and they be their true self ."
